From First Cry to Forever: A Father’s Journey
As a father for the first time, in the tender embrace of May 2010, I stood witness—a privileged spectator—as life unfolded before me. The delivery room pulsed with anticipation, and there she was: my daughter, a miracle wrapped in cries and innocence. Emotions swirled—a symphony of awe, fear, and boundless love. To this day, that moment remains etched in my heart, a timeless melody. It was an emotional event as it still is to this day whenever I think of it. As I was with her in her very first hour of life outside of the womb, I kept thinking, “Wow, my very own child from the woman I love. What to do with this little human being?”

The First Hour
She cried inconsolably, then paused and wondered why she had stopped, only to resume her wailing. As her cries echoed, I leaned over her tiny form. “I’ll always be with you,” I whispered, my voice lost in her wails. She couldn’t hear me, not really. But perhaps she sensed my tone—the same one that had accompanied her growth within her mother’s womb. “GROW, GROW, GROW big and strong!” I’d encouraged her then, promising a life of happiness, trust, and unwavering presence. And that promise extended to her little brother, born 2 years later.
Becoming a Dad for the First Time
The gift of fatherhood—indescribable. Joy spilled over, and wonder danced in my eyes. I held her hand, gazed into her innocent eyes, and whispered love and encouragement. These moments—precious, fleeting—became treasures etched in memory. And so, I vowed to create more: shared laughter, whispered secrets, bedtime stories.
The Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity
Being a dad for the first time—a role that transcends time and circumstance. I refused absence, rejected neglect. Responsibility, yes, but also honor. I longed to be the dad who stood tall, who made his children proud. That day in May 2010, I donned multiple hats: father, provider, protector, mentor, servant. Children—a mirror reflecting our essence, a canvas for our legacy.
Heirs of His Kingdom
We—all of us—bear the divine imprint. Created in the image and likeness of God, our heavenly Father, we carry the duty to honor and reflect His glory. Our children? Not mere offspring, but heirs of His kingdom. If we are children of God, then our lives should echo grace, resilience, discipline, and love.

Wisdom and Wonders
Fatherhood—a blessing, a commitment, a challenge. It’s passing on what we’ve learned, becoming wiser with each step. And so, fellow dads, let’s raise our glasses—to first cries, to forever bonds, and to the legacy we weave.
What say you? What echoes in your heart? Share your firsts, your wisdom, your journey. After all, we’re in this together—a brotherhood of fathers, navigating the tides of love.
